Carl-Magnus Mörth is an isotope geochemist. His main research interest are weathering, weathering budgets, link between weathering of silicate minerals and climate in boreal sub-arctic regions (this addresses especially carbon sources and sinks in relation to weathering reactions), silicon dynamics in the Baltic Sea and modeling of release of nutrients (N, P) base cations and metals using GIS-variables and process knowledge. Parts of his research is in collaboration with the Baltic Nest Institute (BNI) of the Stockholm Resilience Centre (SRC) where he is part of a group that applies a holistic approach for managing the Baltic Sea, from natural science to economic and social sciences. He is currently director of the work at SIL.
