Statistical analysis of geological data

The course introduces the quantification and analysis of geoscientific data series. It provides basic knowledge in: probability analysis and statistics, interpolation, curve fitting, regression, time series analysis (even spectral analyis), statistical analysis of single and multiple variables (multi-variate analysis), vector analysis, ANOVA, and transformation of data. The course also includes planning of experiments. The course is given by the Department of Geology and Geochemistry.

Admission requirements

Bachelor degree with a major in Geoscience or equivalent. The requirements can also be met by anyone who has acquired the equivalent knowledge or experience in any other way, in or outside the country. English B or comparable.
