Field study in the geological sciences

In the course Field Studies in Geological Sciences students learn to describe and interpret the geology of a selected area and will examine how geological resources affect the livelihood of the people living in the area. Following a thorough literature study, we perform field work (geological mapping, sampling) that will allow answering questions relating to the societal development in the area. Students will gain experience of geological maps and data bases, sampling and field-based analytical methods, report writing, oral and written presentations of their work.

Admission requirements

Knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor of Science degree, which includes at least 90 credits in geology or geoscience, or otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge or experience. English B or equivalent.
